Important Update on swimwear

*Only swimwear approved by FINA, as reflected on its published list of approved swimwear, may be worn at this USA Swimming sanctioned competition.

Additionally, since the FINA-approved list only addresses "new model" swimsuits submitted by swimsuit manufacturers, swimmers will, until otherwise directed by FINA, also be able to wear traditional swimsuits provided the suits meet the following criteria:

1. For female swimmers, the swimsuit shall not cover the neck, extend past the shoulders or past the pelvis, and
2. For male swimmers, the swimsuit shall not extend above the naval or below the knees.

There are currently 202 suits on the FINA-approved list. Click here for FINA approved suit list

**Please note: Doping Control will occur at Grand Prix meets. Athletes must check the status of all medications prior to competition at www.usantidoping.org/dro. Athletes should check over the counter and prescription medications (as well as any injections, iontophoresis, etc). The 2009 Anti-Doping Rules have resulted in many changes. Some medications require documentation be submitted in advance and that the medication be declared online at USADA’s website (which requires a password from USADA): Athletes should contact USADA immediately at 1-800-233-0393 to check requirements for reporting.

World Record at the Santa Clara International Invitational

The 36th Santa Clara International Invitational swim meet saw it's first world record in 32 years when Michael Phelps of North Baltimore Aquatic Club turned in an awesome performance on Sunday afternoon, in the Men's 200 IM.  His time of 1:57.94, bettered the nine year old mark of 1:58.16, set by Finland's Jani Sievinen, at the 1994 World Championships in Rome.
