Santa Clara Swim Club Moves into Top 50 for 2009-2010 Virtual Club Championships
The Virtual Club Championships was started by USA Swimming as a way to rank clubs and their swimming performances against each other for swimmers age 11 and older. This is one of many markers used by clubs and club coaches to gauge the overall success and improvement upon performances each year not only within their own club, but also in comparison to the country. During the short course season for 2007-2008, Santa Clara Swim Club finished the season 77th with a score of 164,384 points. The following year 2008-2009 the club improved to 67th with a score of 175,921. This year the club has again continued its improvement and moved into the top 50 in the country with a score of 190,326 and a placing of 43rd.
Congratulations to all of our swimmers who have continued to stretch their swimming, challenging themselves to improve in not only their preferred events, but also in events that they were hesitant in the past to explore. As a coaching staff we are proud of each of you for your efforts.

SCSC Swimmers
The 2008-2009 USA Swimming Scholastic
All-American team was announced this past week by
USA Swimming and 9 swimmers from Santa Clara Swim
Club were selected for the 2008-2009 school year.
SCSC swimmers Arenne Clark, Natalie Garland, Morgan
Lee, Maddie Takaki, Stephanie Wei, Sean Fronczak,
Jackson Partin, Jeff Peters, and Daniel Tan were
named to this team. To qualify for the Scholastic
All-American team a swimmer must be in grades 10th
to 12th and have a grade point average of 3.5 or
better and have achieved a Junior National bonus
time standard during that school year.
In the prior year, 2007-2008, SCSC
had 3 swimmers qualify for this team and we are
excited by the addition of 6 new swimmers to the
group. SCSC is extremely proud of the achievements
of these swimmers and their dedication to truly
being the best they can be as individuals both in
and out of the water. Again our congratulations
to each of these swimmers for their dedication and
hard work in the classroom and in the pool and we
hope to continue to see this list grow in the years
to come.
